The Founders

Giulia Vazzoler
Giulia Vazzoler is a concert pianist, an author and the founder of Silentia. For more than twenty years she has worked in luxury hospitality and high-end events. As director of her music agency, Sonata Privata, she has performed at and advised some of the world’s leading five-star properties, and knows from the inside how they run.
She also works as a cultural communicator online and has created several cross-media art projects. Years of performing in these spaces showed her something guests feel but rarely name: a beautiful room can be spoiled by noise, and a great one is often great because of what you don’t hear.
Silentia grew from that idea. In a luxury setting, what you hear matters as much as what you see, and so does what you don’t.

Stefano Marrone
Stefano Marrone is an Italian lawyer and the president of several lawyers’ associations in the Venice district. His work demands close attention to detail, confidentiality and the protection of privacy, and he brings the same habits to the Silentia evaluation panel.
A seasoned traveller, he looks at how discreet a venue really is. His question is simple: does the property actually deliver the privacy, space and acoustic isolation it promises, both in its layout and in the way it is run?
